Artful Insights: Maxfield Parrish
$10.00
Monday, January 13, 2025, 3:00 p.m.
Maxfield Parrish’s works of art often depict a highly idealized fantasy world shown in vibrant and luminous colors. His work was incredibly popular during his lifetime, particularly the paintings and illustrations featuring androgynous nudes in wondrous settings. During his career, he produced almost 900 pieces including book illustrations, calendars, greeting cards, and magazine covers. His work also appeared in advertising and on product packages. His art was so fashionable by 1925, that it is estimated that around one out of every four American families had a print of one of his artworks in their homes. The color Parrish blue was even named after him. See how Maxfield Parrish helped shape the Golden Age of Illustration at this Artful Insight.
