Westbound

Join us here at AMWA for our new bi-monthly book club, Westbound. Every other month, AMWA staff will choose a book that focuses on themes from art history, Indigenous perspectives, and Western frontier history. Both fiction and non-fiction titles will be featured. Westbound will meet on the 2nd Tuesday, every other month, to discuss the book in AMWA’s galleries. Pre-registration and tickets are required. Tickets are $5 each. Each meeting is limited to 15 guests.

Books we’ll be reading for the 2024 season:
January – Charles M. Russell: The Life and Legend of America’s Cowboy Artist by John Taliaferro
March – Woman of Light by Kali Fajardo-Anstine
May – Short Nights of the Shadow Catcher: The Epic Life and Immortal Photographs of Edward Curtis by Timothy Egan
July – The Trackers by Charles Frazier
September – An Indigenous Peoples’ History of the United States by Roxanne Dunbar-Ortiz
