Artful Insights – Broadmoor Art Academy

Established in Colorado Springs in 1919, the Broadmoor Art Academy became a “little capital of culture” in the Rocky Mountains. It attracted nationally recognized artists to its faculty and trained many generations of artists. This Artful Insight will discuss the Academy’s influence and examine a number of works in the collection by former faculty members, like Birger Sandzen and Ernest Lawson. Commemorate Colorado’s 150th anniversary with a celebration of its cultural impact.
