New York artist, Ralph Albert Blakelock, made an extended trip through the West between 1869 and 1872. He began painting the West in a traditional Hudson River style, and gradually developed an expressive style that characterized his art and made it unique. In spite of insurmountable challenges and others’ unfair treatment of him during his career, Blakelock became one of America’s most respected and sought after artists in his time. Come learn more about Blakelock at this upcoming Artful Insight.
